Preacher: Rev. Canon Gideon N. Genka
Topic: The cry that God cannot ignore
Text: Exodus 2:23-25, Isaiah 11:1-9
Introduction: There are seasons in life where human strength crushes under the weight of burden, where oppression is the order of the day, but with God there is hope.
The children of Israel cried to God due to helplessness.
The one who hears cry does not just react emotionally but reacts redemptively so that he comes to rescue.
4 folds of response when you cry:
i. God hears: Divine attention. “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” (Ps.34:15-17)
ii. God remembers: In His remembrance He showcases His faithfulness. “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.”(Isa.43:26)
God does not break covenant.
iii. God looks: Even though it tarries, wait for him. The Lord will look upon you and you will smile.
iv. God knows: This is “divine involvement”
The God who answers, who hears suffering in Exodus promises restoration in Isaiah.
Moses brought temporary relief but Jesus brings eternal salvation.
Call on God, cry out to Him and He will answer you in Jesus name, amen!!!
